PG. 2010. The last song can’t come soon enough in this big screen exposure of Hannah Montana money machine Miley Cyrus, who reveals herself to be a less talented actress than singer. As an obnoxious teen visiting her country-based Dad from the big city, Cyrus makes us detest her from the outset. Our sympathies are all with Chris Hemsworth. 8.45pm, Seven, Prime7

M. 2009. Fast forward a few decades and it seems we won’t bother doing anything. We’ll lie back in armchairs and let our avatars go out and have the fun. Bruce Willis is a cop whose avatar does the investigating but, when the surrogates turn on each other, he has to go out himself. Silly sci-fi excels in tech wizardry but not in functional story. Radha Mitchell. 9.15pm, SBS ONE

M. 2005. Transsexual Felicity Huffman, while awaiting her gender operation to become a woman, learns she has a son from the time she was a man. Planning to go to Los Angeles, the two take off on a road trip across America. Huffman gives a tour de force performance – a woman playing a man, who wants to be a woman. Danny Burstein.
