Australian country singer Lee Conway will perform at this month’s Gold Coast Indie Film Festival event, at The Arts Centre Gold Coast on Wednesday. Conway will perform with guests Chris Young, Brooke Banderas and the band Smoking Bullets before sharing stories and highlights from his 40-year career – including his appearance before the Queen and Prince Phillip, after which the Prince asked him if had ‘‘gargled with gravel’’. One of Australian music’s most respected artists, Conway has also produced tracks for other artists and penned jingles for radio and TV. The event will also feature guest speaker Loic Valmy, a French-born musical score composer now based on the Sunshine Coast. Valmy will discuss how filmmakers, directors and producers can take advantage of music for the screen.
