South Pa­cific out­ing for Mccune and Ce­ber­ano

from star­ring and ex­ec­u­tive pro­duc­ing her up­com­ing drama Reef Doc­tors on the Gold Coast, Lisa Mccune (pic­tured) will wash that man right out of her hair in a new stage ver­sion of South Pa­cific. Set on a trop­i­cal is­land in World War II, the mu­si­cal tells the story of Nel­lie (Mccune), an Amer­i­can nurse on a US naval base, falls in love with French plan­ta­tion owner Emile (New Zealand’s Teddy Tahu Rhodes). An­other ro­mance blos­soms later be­tween a US lieu­tenant and the daugh­ter of sul­try Viet­namese ven­dor Bloody Mary, played by singer Kate Ce­ber­ano. Off­spring star Eddie Per­fect plays a wom­an­is­ing sailor.

plays the Syd­ney Opera House from Au­gust 8 and Melbourne’s Princess Theatre from Septem­ber 13.
