Movie of the Week 8.30pm, One
M. 1998. Brilliant depiction of men at war by director Terrence Malick, set during the Pacific campaign, from the James Jones novel and brought to life with a huge cast. Realistic battle sequences and extraordinarily beautiful cinematography may be lost on the small screen, but it remains a unique movie experience. Parts were filmed in north Queensland. 9pm, Ten, Ten SC
M. 2001. Remarkable story of John Forbes Nash Jr, a brilliant physicist whose life was disrupted by the onset of schizophrenia. Russell Crowe is extraordinary in the role as a man who slowly realises his mind is not normal and fights to distinguish between reality and delusion. A fine, involving drama from director Ron Howard.
