Nine hops on the family bandwagon
Australian-made family drama is set to hit television screens with Channel 9 announcing it will start shooting House Husbands this month. The 10-part comedy drama series has been created by Ellie Beaumont and Drew Proffitt and will be produced by Sue Seeary ( Slide) and Proffitt ( Lockie Leonard). The cast for the series has yet to be announced. ‘‘ House Husbands is a fresh and dynamic look at Australian family life, with a very modern twist,’’ says Nine director of television Michael Healy. ‘‘Audiences will fall in love with our characters as they deal with the challenges of raising families in today’s hectic world.’’ After the success of Channel 7’s Packed to the Rafters, Nine is jumping on the Australian-made family drama bandwagon with this new offering.
