Nine hops on the fam­ily band­wagon

Aus­tralian-made fam­ily drama is set to hit tele­vi­sion screens with Chan­nel 9 an­nounc­ing it will start shoot­ing House Hus­bands this month. The 10-part com­edy drama se­ries has been cre­ated by El­lie Beau­mont and Drew Prof­fitt and will be pro­duced by Sue Seeary ( Slide) and Prof­fitt ( Lockie Leonard). The cast for the se­ries has yet to be an­nounced. ‘‘ House Hus­bands is a fresh and dy­namic look at Aus­tralian fam­ily life, with a very mod­ern twist,’’ says Nine di­rec­tor of tele­vi­sion Michael Healy. ‘‘Au­di­ences will fall in love with our char­ac­ters as they deal with the chal­lenges of rais­ing fam­i­lies in to­day’s hec­tic world.’’ Af­ter the suc­cess of Chan­nel 7’s Packed to the Rafters, Nine is jump­ing on the Aus­tralian-made fam­ily drama band­wagon with this new of­fer­ing.
