M. 2004. Touch­ing film about the dilemma fac­ing 20-some­thing shop­girl Claire Danes, pur­sued by rich so­phis­ti­cate Steve Martin and pen­ni­less scruff Ja­son Schwartz­man. Based on a novel by Martin, exquisitely acted and blessed with a lovely score, it’s an homage to the ro­man­tic hopes and as­pi­ra­tions of young women ev­ery­where. Just see it!

The Nev­erend­ing Story, 7.40pm, GO

½ G. 1984. A mag­i­cal book takes a boy to the fan­tas­tic land of Fan­ta­sia to fol­low the ad­ven­tures of a young hero who must save the land from an evil power. Well di­rected by Wolf­gang Petersen. The kids will love his con­glom­er­a­tion of fab­u­lous crea­tures. Noah Hath­away, Bar­rett Oliver.

Crazy Heart Ten, Ten SC

M. 2009. Bad Blake (Jeff Bridges), a once great coun­try singer be­fud­dled by bour­bon and bad habits, drifts into an­other coun­try town for an­other gig on the road to ob­scu­rity. He gets one last shot at re­demp­tion when he meets re­porter Mag­gie Gyl­len­hall. Fault­less, Os­car-win­ning work from Bridges pow­ers this ex­cep­tional look at an artist who has reached the end of his tether. Movie of the Week 9.10pm,
