Noon, GEM PG. 1983. Stodgy outdoors drama about cattlemen in the high country of Victoria is a distant cousin to The Man From Snowy River, though from the poor side of the family. Still, the location photography’s good. John Waters, Simone Buchanan.
Reindeer Games, GO, 9.30pm
M. 2000. Released from jail, petty crook Ben Affleck takes up with his ex-cellmate’s girlfriend, unaware she’s part of a gang which wants to use his skills in a robbery. The convoluted plot rapidly sours even – with director John Frankenheimer at the helm – and Affleck makes a lightweight hero playing opposite Charlize Theron.
Tears For Sale
SBS2, 9.40pm, M. 2008. Very odd, demented, yet quite magnetic fairytale set in a Serbian village, where sisters Katarina Radivojevic and Sonja Kolacaric manage to kill the only man. Ordered out to find at least another eligible man, they meet two on the road and decide to keep them for themselves. However, fate intervenes and takes a hand. May be your only chance to watch graphic sex taking place in a hearse.
