MA. 2009. None-toobright roadworker Woody Harrelson adopts a nightime superhero persona as Defendor, with no powers to speak of but a desire to right wrongs. Strange, straight-to-video, action comedy is never hilarious but it has the benefit of Harrelson’s earnest performance as a man veering into mental illness. Sandra Oh. 9.40pm, 7TWO
AV. 1998. Powerful depiction of men at war from Steven Spielberg. Tom Hanks and his platoon, after going through the hell of the Normandy landing, are ordered to find a soldier whose brothers have all been killed. Their search leads them to a German town where a bridge must be held against advancing German troops. Remarkable. Matt Damon.
