has secured the free-to-air television broadcast rights for UEFA Euro 2012 and will show eight big matches. The live matches include the final on Monday, July 2, plus one semi-final and two quarterfinals. The remaining four matches shown will be delayed group stage games, including the opener between Poland and Greece on Saturday, plus Spain v Italy, France v England, and Netherlands v Germany. SBS will also show matchday highlights on SBS TWO. The UEFA European Football Championship, held every four years, features 16 international teams. The 2012 event will be held in Poland and Ukraine, with qualifiers including defending title holders and World Cup winners Spain, plus former European champions France, Greece, Italy, Germany and Netherlands. Euro ’96 semifinalists England are there. Les Murray and David Basheer host, with analysis by Craig Foster and David Zdrilic.
