Se­bas­tian’s head­lin­ing Aus­tralian tour stops on the Gold Coast this week­end. The pop, R’n’B and soul singer-song­writer (pic­tured), who first opened the na­tion’s ears when he won the in­au­gu­ral se­ries of Aus­tralian Idol in 2003, has clocked up six top 10 plat­inum and mul­ti­plat­inum al­bums and be­come a favourite with TV au­di­ences as a judge on Chan­nel 7’s re­al­ity TV se­ries The X Fac­tor. Se­bas­tian, who re­cently be­came a dad for the first time, is tour­ing to show off songs from his sev­enth stu­dio al­bum, Ar­maged­don – in­clud­ing hit sin­gle Don’t Worry Be Happy and new track Big Bad World, a song in­spired by the ex­pe­ri­ence of be­com­ing a fa­ther. Long-time fans can rest as­sured his set will also fea­ture old favourites – in­clud­ing his Idol sin­gle An­gels Brought Me Here and club smash Who’s That Girl. ‘‘I’m so ex­cited to get back out on the road,’’ he says. ‘‘I’m play­ing shows in places I’ve never vis­ited be­fore and I can’t wait to get out and do what I do best, which is sing and hang out with my fans.’’
