‘‘Of course, the ingredients are a bit different for animals. To feed birds of prey, for example, you might choose brains and other stuff. Some of it can be extremely gooey. You should hear the screams.’’
Irwin has plenty to keep her busy, with books, an internet series and music. She has appeared in Free Willy: Escape From Pirate’s Cove and will start shooting Nim’s Island 2 on the Gold Coast later this year.
5pm, ABC3. a massive wall, and Deadliest Dinner, where kids throw together a gourmet feast for Australia Zoo’s animal residents.
‘‘It’s one of my favourite challenges,’’ Irwin says of Deadliest Dinner. Her brother, she says, helps her out on the ‘‘grosser challenges’’.
‘‘They (the contestants) create a dinner for one of our chosen animals – it could be a dingo, an echidna, a bird of prey. We’ve got a selection of all different types of foods, which I suppose makes it a bit like MasterChef.’’
