M. 2005. One thing learned from 2001: A Space Odyssey is ro­bots with cul­tured ac­cents mean big trou­ble.The US top brass can’t have seen it though, be­cause they put a ro­bot in charge of a stealth fighter. It de­cides to bomb Rus­sia. Hot-shot pi­lots Josh Lu­cas, Jes­sica Biel and Jamie Foxx are there to pull the fuses out. Hi­lar­i­ously aw­ful. 9.40pm, 7TWO

M. 1984. Widow Sally Field fights against the el­e­ments, her neigh­bours and the bank to keep her farm afloat af­ter hub­bie dies. Per­haps the best of sev­eral 1980s films about ru­ral life. Top per­for­mances by an all-star cast. 10.30pm, SBS TWO

M. 2004. Korean drama about two school­girls, sav­ing for a trip to Paris, who raise money through pros­ti­tu­tion, with one ped­dling the sex and the other manag­ing the money. When the fa­ther of one finds out he tries to right the wrongs he thinks have been done. Low bud­get but im­pres­sive drama of a difficult sub­ject.
