PG. 2009. Kids learn their holiday home has been usurped by aliens that look like a cross between Ninja Turtles and Gremlins. A battle ensues between the creatures and the techsavvy kids, oblivious to the grown-ups. Plays like an endless video game. 9.25pm, Nine, NBN
M. 2005. Dark, gloomy tale of the origins of Batman with Christian Bale as the Dark Knight – alias of Bruce Wayne – and Michael Caine as the faithful Alfred. A cut above early incarnations, but the overplotted last half is distracting. Still, there’s some good moments and the Batmobile is a ripper. 9.40pm, Go!
M. 2007. Jon Heder, approaching 30, still lives at home with mum Diane Keaton. When she starts dating again, he stalks the couple until he meets his own possible mate, Anna Faris. Should be funny, but it’s creepy, squandering the talents of a terrific cast. 9.50pm, ABC2
G. 1951. Rousing film version of the C.S. Forester’s novel about a prim lady missionary and a drunken engineer escaping from the Germans in a battered river boat. Terrific comedy adventure with super performances. Humphrey Bogart, Katharine Hepburn.
