Co-stars share love of Batcycle

Bale shared a mutual enjoyment for the Batcycle with the late Heath Ledger. The star of the Batman franchise has recalled his memories of working with the superhero’s vehicles on set, sharing in the Australian actor’s enjoyment of the ‘‘incredible bike’’. Ledger portrayed The Joker in The Dark Knight, which was released in 2008 – the same year he died. ‘‘I never got to fly the Bat but it was a hell of a thrill just to sit on it, it’s an incredible bike,’’ Bale recalls. ‘‘Heath enjoyed that too. He never got to do it in the movie, but a couple of times in the out-takes he got the chance to do so.’’ brainy Lucius Fox, Aussie Ben Mendelsohn as a greedy businessman, and Inception alumni Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Nolan is brilliant at creating high stakes – the kind that make you grasp the edge of your seat and where everything is down to the wire.

Chaos reigns throughout this latest Batman film – there are epic action sequences involving collapsing football stadiums, thousands fighting in the streets and high-speed Batmobile chases.

The Dark Knight Rises is a thrilling and fitting conclusion to this saga, which lives up to expectations.

It may be Nolan’s last Batman film but it’s unlikely to be the last time we see the Caped Crusader on the big screen.
