DJ duo to lay down some wicked ’90s beats

Chapman and Wade Osborn – two parts of five-piece alternative band Amy Meredith – will transform Komune Resort & Beach Club in Coolangatta into a rocking ’90s party this weekend. The DJ duo will hit the decks for a ‘‘Bad Shirt Party’’ and Chapman says the pair plan on laying down some ’90s classics. ‘‘We love getting stuck into the stuff you don’t normally hear, like Madonna, Prince and Will Smith,’’ Chapman says. ‘‘It’s good to mix it up now and then with a DJ set. We like to hang out and have a dance.’’ Chapman says he and Osborn will have an extra reason to celebrate this weekend. ‘‘We (Amy Meredith) are releasing a single on Friday called Fun. It’s from our forthcoming album, Maps, which will be released later this year,’’ he says. ‘‘The album is called Maps because it was compiled all over the world – we wrote songs in places like London and New York and we used 10 different producers. The album is a journey. It’s about travel and home sickness and all that stuff. We are hoping a tour will come straight after the album.’’
