As a vir­u­lent plague breaks out in the US, the only man who can pre­vent it, take-charge medico Dustin Hoffman, barks out or­ders to find an an­ti­dote in time to pre­vent fruit­cake gen­eral Don­ald Suther­land from nuk­ing the vic­tims. The med­i­cal scenes are first rate, but pre­sent­ing Hoffman as a Doc Die Hard, skews the movie. 10.30pm, SBS ONE

M. 2006. Low-bud­get Dan­ish drama takes its for­mat, though not its dra­matic in­tent, from soap op­eras. Lonely Trine Dyrholm, adopts equally friend­less trans­sex­ual David Den­cik, while he waits for a sex change op­er­a­tion. Two forlorn souls find deep friend­ship as they share the de­tails of their sep­a­rate sex­ual en­coun­ters.
