Lawyer at film Q&A
Coast lawyer, author, screenwriter, director and producer Chris Nyst (pictured) will share his success stories and experiences as part of a Q&A session at the next Gold Coast Indie Film and TV Network event. Nyst, 58, will discuss the state of the film industry and how he balances running a law firm with his film and writing projects at the monthly event held at The Arts Centre Gold Coast on Wednesday. Nyst is best-known for his acclaimed crime feature, Gettin’ Square, starring David Wenham and Sam Worthington. Nyst wrote and co-produced the film, which won the 2003 Lexus IF Award for Best Screenplay. He followed it up in 2007 with feature film Crooked Business, which he wrote and directed. Short film The Plan, by Mirko and Amanda Grillini, will also screen on Wednesday. Mirko wrote and stars in the film, coproduced and co-directed with Amanda.
The Gold Coast Indie Film and TV Network event plays The Arts Centre Gold Coast on Wednesday at 6.30pm.
