Mcleod takes new songs on road
a series of shows on the Gold Coast in DJ mode, Sarah McLeod (pictured) launches herself into spring with her energetic live show. McLeod will show why she’s considered one of Australia’s greatest rock chicks when she plays a live gig in Surfers Paradise this weekend. The former frontwoman of ARIA-winning rock band The Superjesus says she plans to road test songs from her forthcoming album at the show. ‘‘I am grabbing my acoustic and I’m off on the road again,’’ she says. ‘‘It’s time to road test new material for the new album. This time though, I’m also bringing my piano.’’ McLeod has been working on new tunes in her home studio in Sydney, where she writes, plays and programmes, produces and engineers her own music. The singersongwriter is reportedly in fine form.
She’s been on the road since June and has just returned from the US, where she performed at the Playboy mansion in Hollywood.
Sarah McLeod plays Titanium Bar, in Surfers Paradise, on Saturday at 8.30pm. Tickets are $20 at the door.
