Six and out for Jersey Shore as the tears flow

and his Jersey Shore cast mem­bers ‘‘teared up’’ when they learnt their show had been can­celled. MTV News has an­nounced it will end the hit re­al­ity show af­ter the sixth sea­son, which de­buts in Aus­tralia and the US next month. ‘‘Ev­ery­body teared up, pro­duc­tion teared up, we teared up, we couldn’t be­lieve it, I can’t pic­ture not go­ing back to Sea­side for the summertime,’’ Pauly D (pic­tured right) says. ‘‘I feel like it’s home.’’ Pauly D can’t wait to see what fans think of the fi­nal sea­son. ‘‘I’m ex­cited. It was prob­a­bly one of my favourite sea­sons to film,’’ he says. The first episode airs in Aus­tralia on Oc­to­ber 24. In other Jersey Shore news, star Ni­cole ‘‘Snooki’’ Polizzi (also pic­tured) has given birth to her first child, a boy. The re­al­ity-TV star and her fi­ance, Jionni LaValle, wel­comed 2.86 kg Lorenzo Do­minic LaValle into the world just a few week­ends ago. MTV has con­grat­u­lated Polizzi and her fi­ance and looked to­ward the new­born’s pos­si­ble ap­pear­ance on Jersey Shore. ‘‘We couldn’t be hap­pier for Ni­cole and Jionni on the healthy de­liv­ery of their baby boy,’’ MTV said in a state­ment. MTV has said Snooki, 24, will be part of the ac­tion in the new sea­son, but has de­clined to of­fer specifics on how big a part she will play in the show about hard-par­ty­ing Ital­ian-Amer­i­can friends.
