Events light up the fore­shore

URFERS Paradise fore­shore comes alive for a spe­cial Kids Week­end on Oc­to­ber 6 and 7. From 11am on both days there’ll be a top-to-bot­tom takeover of the coastal precinct, with fun and games, free fam­ily ac­tiv­i­ties and per­for­mances by Dorothy the Di­nosaur.

She and her wig­gly friends Cap­tain Feather­sword, Wags the Dog, Fairy Clare and Henry the Oc­to­pus, along with Clare Dee and the DanceA-Lots will per­form all the clas­sic Wig­gles songs.

Along­side Dorothy, you can see the Paradise Re­sort Mini Chefs of Surfers Paradise, per­for­mances from Drac­ula’s Haunted House, and beach­side at­trac­tions from Time­Zone Surfers Paradise.

Ad­di­tional events will also be held at the sec­ond Kids Week­end lo­ca­tion, The High Street.

There will be per­for­mances from Beat the Streets, ma­gi­cians, and beach ac­tiv­i­ties.

An­other big at­trac­tion will be the live broad­cast of The Mup­pets lat­est film in Surfers Paradise beach cinema on Satur­day night, with fire­works as the movie ends.

Dreamworld is join­ing in the ac­tion by bring­ing some of their furry and scaly friends to the precinct for the Movies at the beach, a visit from a bilby and per­for­mances by Dorothy the Di­nosaur are part of the Surfers Paradise Kids Week­end.

This gives kids a rare op­por­tu­nity to come face-to-face with iconic Aus­tralian an­i­mals, in­clud­ing a baby croc and one of the most threat­ened mam­mal species, the bilby.

Catch the an­i­mal ac­tion be­tween 11am and 3pm on both days. The Surfers Paradise fore­shore will be the real hub of the week­end, with mu­sic and en­ter­tain­ment on stage and all the hands-on stuff tak­ing place down by the beach. So, pack up the kids and en­joy a week­end of free en­ter­tain­ment and ac­tiv­i­ties.
