Events light up the foreshore
URFERS Paradise foreshore comes alive for a special Kids Weekend on October 6 and 7. From 11am on both days there’ll be a top-to-bottom takeover of the coastal precinct, with fun and games, free family activities and performances by Dorothy the Dinosaur.
She and her wiggly friends Captain Feathersword, Wags the Dog, Fairy Clare and Henry the Octopus, along with Clare Dee and the DanceA-Lots will perform all the classic Wiggles songs.
Alongside Dorothy, you can see the Paradise Resort Mini Chefs of Surfers Paradise, performances from Dracula’s Haunted House, and beachside attractions from TimeZone Surfers Paradise.
Additional events will also be held at the second Kids Weekend location, The High Street.
There will be performances from Beat the Streets, magicians, and beach activities.
Another big attraction will be the live broadcast of The Muppets latest film in Surfers Paradise beach cinema on Saturday night, with fireworks as the movie ends.
Dreamworld is joining in the action by bringing some of their furry and scaly friends to the precinct for the Movies at the beach, a visit from a bilby and performances by Dorothy the Dinosaur are part of the Surfers Paradise Kids Weekend.
Dreamworld Wildlife Foundation animal display.
This gives kids a rare opportunity to come face-to-face with iconic Australian animals, including a baby croc and one of the most threatened mammal species, the bilby.
Catch the animal action between 11am and 3pm on both days. The Surfers Paradise foreshore will be the real hub of the weekend, with music and entertainment on stage and all the hands-on stuff taking place down by the beach. So, pack up the kids and enjoy a weekend of free entertainment and activities.
