Kids can be stunt stars for a day

The Gold Coast Bulletin - Play Magazine - - SCHOOL HOLIDAY GUIDE -

F your kids are adrenalin junkies, always jumping off things, pretend fighting, and riding their bikes to the extreme, Stunt Academy Kids is for them. It’s an action packed school holiday program designed for eight to 16 year olds who want to explore the spectacular world of stunts.

The program features one day of activities designed to safely teach kids the skills of stunt performing for film, TV, theatre and theme parks.

Sessions include theatrical fighting, tumbling, sword fighting, a commandostyle obstacle course, trampolining and high falls.

Australian Stunt Academy owner and stunt man Colin Handley said kids would have one of the most memorable school holidays of their lives.

“They will also film and star in their own action scene,’’ Mr Handley said.

“Not only will they learn these very useful skills, but they will improve confidence, social skills, body control and teamwork.

“Our qualified instructors will ensure that all safety procedures are followed, that everyone gets equal attention and that participants enjoy the experience fully.”

Staff are highly trained specialists and most are first-aid qualified.
