Man on the move: Adam Brand
HE original Dirt Track Cowboy, Adam Brand is a man on the move – literally.
When the multi-award winning country music star isn’t touring, you can find him behind the wheel of a vehicle, competing in some way shape or form.
Brand, who plays Twin Towns tomorrow, plans to move back to the Gold Coast. He says he’ll do some house hunting while he’s here to show off songs from There Will be Love, his ninth studio album and first new release in two years.
The album was inspired by his stint living in the US, where he has signed with Sony Music and is working on establishing a profile in one of the most competitive music markets in the world.
However, Brand has retained his distinctive sound – full of passion, emotion and a bit of fun – and is looking forward to bringing it to audiences in a brand-new show.
The first single from the album, the title track, has proven a chart success, adding to an impressive list of hits from a career that has taken off since Brand moved from West Australia to the east coast in 1997.
Whether it’s singing on stage, being on TV in such shows as Dancing With The Stars and more recently, The Great Outdoors, or driving race cars, Brand prides himself on always being entertaining.
‘‘This show will feature tracks off the new album as well as some of the old favourites – I couldn’t get away without doing some of them – and there’ll be a few surprises,’’ Brand says.
‘‘I like to keep things fresh so that people who have seen me in the past won’t be bored with the same old, same old.
‘‘Like my previous albums, There Will be Love comes straight from the heart but I think it reflects more growth in me as an artist and has more about what I want to say.’’
With hits such as Dirt Track Cowboy, Last Man Standing, Built For Speed, Good Friends, and Hell Of A Ride, Brand has shown he has an ability to connect with people from all walks of life – both inside and outside the country music realm.
Off the stage and out of the studio, Brand has spent time racing V8 utes and is currently involved in the Suzuki Swift racing series.
He also co-hosts The Great Outdoors and has released a selftitled cook book.
How he will find time to house hunt is anybody’s guess.
Adam Brand plays Twin Towns tomorrow at 8.30pm.
