Jlo’s dance goes on
a single mother who’s been voted this year’s most powerful celebrity by Forbes magazine and recently walked away from a TV job on American Idol that paid her $US12 million ($A11.4 million) a season for judging wannabe singers. Now Jennifer Lopez is extending her plan for world domination by bringing her Dance Again tour to Australia in December – the first time she’s played Down Under. Since launching her first world tour in June to promote her latest album, the career retrospective Dance Again ... The Hits, Lopez has played South America, Canada and the US. Currently taking a break, she will next head to Europe, Asia and Australia. Lopez’s four-year-old twins, Max and Emme, are accompanying her on the world tour, including the Australian leg. ‘‘I love them,’’ she says. ‘‘I want them close to me.’’ Lopez, 43, says her split from their dad, singer Marc Anthony, was ‘‘tough’’. ‘‘I wanted my family to be together forever but at the end of the day you have to do what you feel is right and most healthy for you and your children.’’ Lopez, who has been dating dancer Casper Smart, 25, the choreographer for her tour, says she still feels youthful and vibrant. ‘‘I feel like you get to a certain age and you realise it is always going to be a learning process,’’ she says. ‘‘Just enjoy the moment.’’
Jennifer Lopez plays the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on December 18. Tickets range from $102.85 to $793.70, which includes a meet and greet.
