Socialite Brynne Edelsten’s new show has been a year in the making, writes

didn’t believe in love at first sight. But he grew on me a lot and I married him,’’ Edelsten says.

The pair live in an apartment in Melbourne’s CBD where most of the series was filmed, although there are scenes shot on the Gold Coast, where the couple have an apartment at Versace and overseas in locations such as Miami and Las Vegas.

Despite her hubby’s high profile, Edelsten says Geoffrey is more or less a recurring character in what she hopes is a very entertaining series.

‘‘Geoff is in the show, and he is a huge part of my life obviously, but he is in it like, 20 per cent of the time,’’ Edelsten says.

‘‘It’s not that he tried not to be involved, he’s a businessman and during the day he’s at work, and there’s a lot of stuff happening during the day when the cameras are there.

‘‘It’s really following my life and what I am going to achieve.’’

Unlike the failed Channel 10 reality show Being Lara Bingle, which was rushed to air not long after it was shot, the production team for Brynne: My Bedazzled Life have a whole year’s content to work with.

It’s that volume of material which Edelsten hopes will be enough to craft an entertaining series that will bring her back for a second helping in 2013.

‘‘Of course people are going to say stuff and you hope for the best, and I hope there are at least as many people who do love it that aren’t a fan of me,’’ she says. ‘‘I am hoping for a second season, so fingers crossed.’’ Thursdays from October 4, 7.30pm, Seven, Prime7.
