Emmy stats up on screen, online
what US television networks surely hope is a trend that carries over into their new season, viewership is up for the Emmy Awards. Nielsen, a company that measures media usage, estimated 13.2 million viewers across the US watched Sunday night’s awards show. That’s up from the 12.4 million who watched in 2011. The social media measurement company Trendrr reported there were more than 1.5 million mentions of the Emmys on social media – up 29 per cent from last year. Jimmy Kimmel was host of the Emmys which saw Modern Family and Homeland named the big winners.
