what US tele­vi­sion net­works surely hope is a trend that car­ries over into their new sea­son, view­er­ship is up for the Emmy Awards. Nielsen, a com­pany that mea­sures me­dia us­age, es­ti­mated 13.2 mil­lion view­ers across the US watched Sun­day night’s awards show. That’s up from the 12.4 mil­lion who watched in 2011. The so­cial me­dia mea­sure­ment com­pany Tren­drr re­ported there were more than 1.5 mil­lion men­tions of the Em­mys on so­cial me­dia – up 29 per cent from last year. Jimmy Kim­mel was host of the Em­mys which saw Mod­ern Fam­ily and Home­land named the big win­ners.
