Mas­ter of subur­ban ab­sur­dism brings back his prob­lems

has com­menced on Aus­tralian stand-up comedian Sam Simmons’s new four-part sketch com­edy se­ries Prob­lems. The se­ries films over three weeks in Mel­bourne, with the show slated to air late this year on ABC1. Simmons (pic­tured), re­cently nom­i­nated for com­edy’s most pres­ti­gious Best Show award at the Ed­in­burgh Fringe and the hit of the Montreal Just For Laughs Fes­ti­val, comes to Prob­lems di­rect from Los Angeles and ahead of a re­turn sea­son in About the Weather on Lon­don’s West End. The cult com­edy hero, de­scribed by fans as mas­ter of subur­ban ab­sur­dism, pulls to­gether a sup­port­ing cast that in­cludes Lawrence Mooney, An­thony Mor­gan, Claudia O’Do­herty, Ronny Chieng, David Quirk and Laura Hughes, with Trent O’Donnell ( Wood­ley, Re­view with Miles Bar­low) as di­rec­tor and Paul Ho­ran ( The Project, Rove Live) as pro­ducer.
