Master of suburban absurdism brings back his problems
has commenced on Australian stand-up comedian Sam Simmons’s new four-part sketch comedy series Problems. The series films over three weeks in Melbourne, with the show slated to air late this year on ABC1. Simmons (pictured), recently nominated for comedy’s most prestigious Best Show award at the Edinburgh Fringe and the hit of the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival, comes to Problems direct from Los Angeles and ahead of a return season in About the Weather on London’s West End. The cult comedy hero, described by fans as master of suburban absurdism, pulls together a supporting cast that includes Lawrence Mooney, Anthony Morgan, Claudia O’Doherty, Ronny Chieng, David Quirk and Laura Hughes, with Trent O’Donnell ( Woodley, Review with Miles Barlow) as director and Paul Horan ( The Project, Rove Live) as producer.
Coming soon, ABC1.
