Funnel vision on duo’s deadly mission

The Gold Coast Bulletin - Play Magazine - - SATURDAY EXTRA -

television favourites and Bushwacked! hosts Brandon Walters and Kayne Tremills face their creepiest, crawliest mission yet as they set off on a new adventure into southeast Queensland’s Lamington National Park in an episode that airs this weekend. The pair (pictured) have a mission – to track down one of the world’s most deadly spiders, a northern tree-dwelling funnel-web. Along the way they meet Professor Glenn King, biochemist at the University of Queensland, who shows the boys how to milk a southern tree-dwelling funnel-web spider – the deadliest arachnid in the world. They also meet Douglas James from the local Yugambeh people, who shares his knowledge of bush tucker and performs traditional indigenous dance. Bushwhacked! is a 13-part series that sends the pair on some weird, whacky and sometimes deadly wildlife missions chasing killer sharks, venomous snakes, friendly penguins and lovable turtles.
