Young (pictured) is one of a trio of King Arthur’s Knights of the Round Table who are Queensland bound for the Supanova Pop Culture Expo. Young, the twin brother of the first UK Idol winner Will Young, plays Sir Leon in the Merlin series which airs in Australia on Channel 10. His companions are Eoin Macken, who plays Sir Gwaine, and Tom Hopper, who plays Sir Percival. Young says the trio are still to nut out exactly what they will get up to during the visit, though ‘‘I suspect it would be rude of us to be in Australia and not to cuddle a koala, so we’ll be there for that’’. ‘‘You know, usually when the three of us are together it’s because we’re filming. That means we’re in some wood in Wales and it’s pouring rain. That we’ll all be together someplace sunny, where people might actually smile on occasion . . . well I still can’t quite believe it’s going to happen.’’ Young says the current season is bigger and bolder than any that have gone before. ‘‘There’s a huge war that just goes on and on. In the past, there have been battles but something happened at the end of each episode to resolve them.’’

Sundays, 6.30pm, Ten, Ten SC; Supanova Brisbane plays RNA Showgrounds from November 9-11.
