A boy’s adventure with imaginary buddy
comic Chris O’Dowd ( Bridesmaids) stars in Moone Boy, a warm family comedy series about a young boy growing up in a chaotic and creative household in late 1980s Ireland. O’Dowd plays Sean, the imaginary friend of 11-year-old Martin (David Rawle), the youngest child in the large and loud family. Sean narrates his adventures. The series opens with Martin celebrating his 12th birthday. His joy at getting a new bike quickly sours when it is trashed by the Bonner brothers. Outraged that Martin is being bullied, his father Liam (Peter McDonald) confronts Mr Bonner, but instead the pair strike up an unlikely friendship and Liam is welcomed into a clandestine support group for disenchanted fathers. O’Dowd penned, executive produces and stars in the comedy series.
