duo The Umbilical Brothers bring the latest version of an old favourite to the Gold Coast this weekend. Back by popular demand, hit show Don’t Explain has taken Shane Dundas and David Collins and their exquisite physical humour around the world. ‘‘We do have the advantage over some stand-ups in that we have a lot of requests to do older stuff,’’ Dundas says. ‘‘We have done it so many times you think people must be sick of it, but they just like seeing it again and again.’’ The show earned the duo a Helpmann Award for Best Comedy Performer in 2008 and the DVD version of the show was nominated for an ARIA for Best Comedy Release. Dundas says the key to performing Don’t Explain is to blend acting with spontaneity. ‘‘We use spontaneity with the prepared stuff and you can’t see the joins, hopefully,’’ he says. ‘‘The glue is just as important as the details.’’ The Umbilical Brothers’

plays Twin Towns on Saturday at 8pm. Tickets $39.
