Bon­ner shares his suc­cess

STAGE, screen and TV favourite Tony Bon­ner will share sto­ries from his 40-year ca­reer with au­di­ences at the fi­nal Gold Coast Indie Film and TV Net­work event for the year. Bon­ner has ap­peared on screen in ev­ery­thing from The An­zacs, The Man From Snowy River and The Lighthorse­men to Home and Away and Neigh­bours, but re­mains best-known for his role as hunky chop­per pi­lot Jerry King in iconic Aussie TV se­ries Skippy the Bush Kan­ga­roo. Bon­ner’s re­sume since then also boasts an im­pres­sive range of stage cred­its in­clud­ing pro­duc­tions of Love Let­ters, Only When I Laugh, The Sen­ti­men­tal Bloke, The Cel­lo­phane Ceil­ing and The Three Mus­ke­teers. He has now turned his at­ten­tion to di­rect­ing and teach­ing. The event will also fea­ture writer and pro­ducer Tony Bellino and a screening of short film The To­ken.

The Gold Coast Indie Film and TV Net­work plays The Base­ment, at The Arts Cen­tre Gold Coast, on Wed­nes­day.
