Thriller charts rise of robots
thriller Real Humans is a new 10-parter set in a parallel present in which the artificial human has come into its own. Robots no longer have anything robot-like about them. New technology makes it possible to manufacture a mechanised servant so similar to a real human it can often be considered a perfectly good substitute. The human robot, better known as the hubot, has given rise to new problems and dilemmas. Tricky legal questions have increasingly started to occupy people’s minds about whether the hubots have some form of rights, such as being paid for work. And as a growing number of people form intimate relationships with hubots, the boundaries between human and machine become blurred.
