Thriller charts rise of ro­bots

thriller Real Hu­mans is a new 10-parter set in a par­al­lel present in which the ar­ti­fi­cial hu­man has come into its own. Ro­bots no longer have any­thing robot-like about them. New tech­nol­ogy makes it pos­si­ble to man­u­fac­ture a mech­a­nised ser­vant so sim­i­lar to a real hu­man it can of­ten be con­sid­ered a per­fectly good sub­sti­tute. The hu­man robot, bet­ter known as the hubot, has given rise to new prob­lems and dilem­mas. Tricky le­gal ques­tions have in­creas­ingly started to oc­cupy peo­ple’s minds about whether the hubots have some form of rights, such as be­ing paid for work. And as a grow­ing num­ber of peo­ple form in­ti­mate re­la­tion­ships with hubots, the bound­aries be­tween hu­man and ma­chine be­come blurred.
