Fox bags Pre­mier League for $15m

Fox Sports will tele­vise the English Pre­mier League for three more years af­ter strik­ing a deal be­lieved to be worth $15 mil­lion a year with Pre­mier League Pro­duc­tions (PLP), the com­pany that con­trols the in­ter­na­tional rights. With the cur­rent deal set to ex­pire at the end of the sea­son, Fox signs on un­til the end of the 2015-16 sea­son. The news comes a week af­ter ex­tend­ing its A-League and Soc­ceroos con­tract by four years, in a $160 mil­lion deal with SBS. Fox, which has held Aus­tralia’s Pre­mier League rights since 1997, will show all 380 games live and ex­clu­sive.
