Fox bags Premier League for $15m
Fox Sports will televise the English Premier League for three more years after striking a deal believed to be worth $15 million a year with Premier League Productions (PLP), the company that controls the international rights. With the current deal set to expire at the end of the season, Fox signs on until the end of the 2015-16 season. The news comes a week after extending its A-League and Socceroos contract by four years, in a $160 million deal with SBS. Fox, which has held Australia’s Premier League rights since 1997, will show all 380 games live and exclusive.
