Hitlerland comes to life
TV writer and producer Marshall Herskovitz is working on a drama series inspired by the book Hitlerland, written by Andrew Nagorski. Emmy winner Herskovitz adapts the book and is the executive producer, Deadline.com reports. The series is set in 1920s and ’30s Berlin, an electrifying and chaotic city at the forefront of literature, art and science. The series will weave accounts of American diplomats and correspondents who watched Hitler and the Nazis rise to power against a fictional backdrop. ‘‘Berlin during the 1920s and ’30s was so alive, so filled with promise, so incredibly modern – even today, much of what we think of as new or avant-garde was created then,’’ says Herskovitz, who created TV shows including Once & Again and such films as Love and Other Drugs and The Last Samurai.
