has come early for Bruce Spring­steen (pic­tured) and Alabama Shakes – the two acts have topped mu­sic bi­ble Rolling Stone’s Best Al­bums and Best Songs of the year lists. Spring­steen’s Wreck­ing Ball beat Frank Ocean’s Chan­nel Or­ange to the top of the 2012 al­bums list. Brittany Howard’s ac­claimed Alabama Shakes, which picked up a Best New Artist Grammy last week, pipped Tay­lor Swift ( We Are Never Ever Get­ting Back To­gether) to the top spot on the songs count­down with Hold On. Also mak­ing the Top 5 al­bums are Jack White’s Blun­der­buss, Bob Dy­lan’s Tem­pest and The Idler Wheel... by Fiona Ap­ple, while Pas­sion Pit’s Take a Walk, Thinkin’ ’Bout You by Frank Ocean and Neil Young and Crazy Horse’s Ra­mada Inn com­plete the Best Songs Top 5.
