TV provider Foxtel has com­mis­sioned a new doc­u­men­tary se­ries that will fol­low cases be­ing heard by coroners in re­mote ar­eas of Aus­tralia. The eight-part se­ries, Out­back Coro­ner, will air on the Crime & In­ves­ti­ga­tion Net­work in 2013. ‘‘This is an op­por­tu­nity to give the pub­lic a bet­ter un­der­stand­ing of what is of­ten seen as a daunt­ing fig­ure – the Coro­ner,’’ co-ex­ec­u­tive pro­ducer Simon Steel says. Out­back Coro­ner of­fers an in­side look at the cases of the coro­ner’s team, who in­ves­ti­gate the foren­sic ev­i­dence, con­duct au­top­sies and coun­sel the fam­i­lies of the dead in search of an­swers. The se­ries will be pro­duced by Screen­time in as­so­ci­a­tion with Ever­shine. Coming in 2013, Crime & In­ves­ti­ga­tion Net­work.
