Mer­lin’s fate on the line as se­ries wraps up

fifth and fi­nal se­ries of Mer­lin draws to a close this week­end. How will fans of the reimag­ined ad­ven­tures of the ma­gi­cian Mer­lin and his long­time friend Arthur end? Will Bradley James’s Arthur, the man Mer­lin made king, learn his friend has been con­jur­ing up the pow­ers of good and evil since the pair were chil­dren? And will Colin Mor­gan’s Mer­lin meet his fate, as he does in the clas­sics, with im­pris­on­ment in the Crys­tal Cave? Nei­ther Mor­gan (pic­tured) nor James have new projects to go to un­like some of the Knights of the Round Ta­ble in­clud­ing Tom Hop­per, who will play Billy Bones in a new se­ries, Black Sails, which reimag­ines Cap­tain Flint and his pi­rates, 20 years prior to Robert Louis Steven­son’s clas­sic Trea­sure Is­land. Black Sails is film­ing in South Africa and is one of two pi­rate drama in pro­duc­tion.
