Gaslight Anthem back
Jersey punk rock band The Gaslight Anthem will return to Australia in May for a five-date tour. The group, who last visited for Soundwave 2011, will kick off at The Tivoli, Brisbane, on May 10, before shows at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre, Melbourne’s The Palace, Adelaide’s HQ and Perth’s Metro City. Prolific in their output of rugged rock’n’roll, The Gaslight Anthem have released four albums in five years including their latest offering Handwritten. Led by frontman Brain Fallon, the four-piece band have won comparisons with fellow New Jersey rocker Bruce Springsteen. The Boss joined the band on stage at Britain’s Glastonbury Festival in 2008 with Fallon later contributing to Springsteen’s headline set. Tickets to The Gaslight Anthem Australian tour go on sale tomorrow.
