will hold auditions for its upcoming season of satirical comedy Our Man in Havana at its Nerang theatre on Sunday from 2pm. Written by Graham Greene and adapted for the stage by Clive Francis, the play lampoons inept British Intelligence Service MI5. The plot follows James Wormald, a vacuum-cleaner salesman living in Cuba who spends his days drinking in seedy bars and worrying about his daughter’s spending. When a visiting Englishman ‘‘recruits’’ him to the Secret Service, he sees it as a chance to climb out of debt. Director Eric James needs four actors – three males; one female – to play some 30 parts. ‘‘This play is seriously fun for actors and audiences alike,’’ he says. British and South American accents required. Email madlondo@on for audition pieces and times. Our Man in Havana plays Javeenbah Theatre, Nerang, from May 24 to June 8.

Coast Little Theatre will hold auditions for Corpse!, a comedy thriller from the pen of British writer Gerald Moon, at its Southport theatre on Sunday from 10am. Described as a ‘‘whodunnit to whom’’ set in London in 1936 the day of Edward VIII’s abdication, Corpse! tells the story of twin brothers, one of who plots to murder the other in most unusual circumstances. Directed by Nathan Schulz, the season runs from June 29 to July 20. Call 5532 2096 or email n—shultz@hot for audition details.
