Timmy’s top brass!
Timmy Trumpet (pictured) swings back into action tonight with a home-town stand to launch a new single and a national tour. One of Australia’s busiest deejays, Trumpet unveils new track #Snapback at the Parkwood Tavern ahead of a 30-plus date jaunt around the country. Renowned for amalgamating electronic genres, his track Sassafras spent seven consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the ARIA Club chart. #Snapback sees Trumpet join forces with award-winning producer Ivan Gough, who helped him capture the live element of the trumpet in signature style. ‘‘It’s been hard keeping #Snapback under wraps,’’ Trumpet says. ‘‘(Electronic duo) The Only previewed it on the 2013 MOS Annual, which has fans asking for it even more. It’s exciting to get this out in time for the big summer shows heading into Future Music Festival.’’ Gough is no stranger to big records – his 2012 release In My Mind earned him another ARIA Award and a Grammy nomination for the Axwell remix. ‘‘It’s an exciting time for dance music with so many great records out there that we really wanted to test the boundaries with #Snapback at the same time as staying true to the big-room sound,’’ Gough says. #Snapback is released digitally via beatport.com tomorrow and on iTunes on March 8.
