Fans can look for­ward to hear­ing tunes from across The Beards’ cat­a­logue, in­clud­ing Got Me A Beard from the al­bum Hav­ing A Beard Is The New Not Hav­ing A Beard. The Beards fuse folk-rock sounds with tounge-in-cheek lyrics – most of them about the ad­van­tages of hav­ing a beard. The quar­tet – Jo­hann Beardraven, John Beard­man Jr, Nathaniel Beard and Facey McS­tub­bling­ton – formed in 2005 for a one-off show and have since re­leased three al­bums. Crowd favourites from their cat­a­logue in­clude If Your Dad Doesn’t Have a Beard,You’ve Got Two Mums, You Should Con­sider Sex with a Bearded Man and No Beard, No Good. The Beards join 42 fel­low Aussies – in­clud­ing 360, Ball Park Mu­sic, Emma Louise, Flume, Ha­vana Brown, Jonathan Boulet, Papa Vs. Pretty, The Rubens and The Au­dreys – at South By South­west, in Austin, Texas, from March 12-17 be­fore they re­turn home to play the By­ron Bay Blues­fest, from March 28 to April 1.
