has cancelled his appearance on the US talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live because cast members of a reality series called Duck Dynasty are on the same show. Morrissey, the outspoken British singer and animal rights activist says he cancelled his appearance because he can’t perform on a show with what he calls ‘‘people who amount to animal serial killers’’. Duck Dynasty is a reality show which follows the Robertson family (pictured) of Louisiana who run a business selling duck calls and decoys. America’s A&E network, which airs the series, did not respond to requests for comment from it and the Robertson family, but a person familiar with the Kimmel show plans confirms Morrissey was to appear. Morrissey’s performance will be rescheduled. Morrissey is back on the road after postponing US shows due to a bleeding ulcer. His gigs include a special show at Hollywood High School and a much-anticipated concert at the Staples Centre, where Morrissey will be joined by rocker Patti Smith. The Everyday is Like Sunday singer was forced to put his tour on hold in January after being diagnosed with a bleeding ulcer and Barrett’s esophagus. His revamped North American tour runs until the end of April.
