Footy 20th starts with KISS
THE (NRL) Footy Show turns 20 this year. Celebrations launch with a bang when rock glam sensations KISS perform live tonight after the Rabbitohs-Roosters blockbuster on Channel 9 and regional affiliate NBN.
Paul ‘‘Fatty’’ Vautin is back as host joined by Michael ‘‘Slats’’ Slater, Beau Ryan, Darryl ‘‘The Big Marn’’ Brohman and Gorden Tallis and recurring guests Wally Lewis and NRL stars Benji Marshall and Billy Slater.
The season launches with the traditional curtain-raiser to the NRL season: the fierce local derby between the Sydney Roosters and South Sydney Rabbitohs.
The Footy Show tonight follows the Roosters-Rabbitohs clash – the first of four Thursday night games scheduled for the opening rounds of the competition on Nine and NBN.
Ray Hadley is joined by Leila McKinnon to talk big issues on the Five in the Bin segment. Erin Molan returns with big news stories of the week and Brisbane sports reporter Yvonne Sampson joins the team with more news and features.
Mario ‘‘The Falcon’’ Fenech is back as political correspondent in a federal election year. Fenech unsuccessfully ran for a seat in the NSW Upper House for the What’s Doing? Party a decade ago and at the Randwick Council elections last year.
Returning segments include Crack-AFatty, Beat the Boys and Anti Ad.
The Footy Show airs tonight postmatch and moves to its new earlier timeslot from April 4 when it broadcasts live on Thursdays from 8.30pm.
Wally Lewis, Paul Vautin, Yvonne Sampson, Michael Slater and Gorden Tallis.
