Identity Thief

The Gold Coast Bulletin - Play Magazine - - MOVIES -

Jason Bateman plays an everyman whose online identity is stolen by a retail-addicted con artist (Melissa McCarthy, the scene-stealer from Bridesmaids). Laughs and mixups etc ensue. They say: Praise for the cast and not much else from overseas critics, with the package written off as laugh-free and strained. Wesay: Even though the pieces are all in place – good comic actors, great premise and a capable director in Seth Gordon ( King of Kong) – Identity Thief adds up to very little. Maybe catch it free-to-air. Maybe. (Report, Page 11.) Running time 107 minutes. Screens at Robina, Coolangatta, Pacific Fair, Australia Fair, Nerang, Yatale Drive-in, Tweed City, Harbour Town.
