Hello Kitty will KISS, make-up
ROCKERS KISS team up with TV bosses for a new Hello Kitty children’s series. The band began their collaboration with the makers of the fictional cat character in 2010 to launch a range, releasing toys, electronics and other products under the KISS x Hello Kitty range. Now the partnership moves to the small screen. Executives at US cable network The Hub have optioned the rights to a new series, which has the working title of KISS Hello Kitty. Band cofounder Gene Simmons (pictured) is thrilled about the venture. ‘‘The Hub Network is the perfect home for the TV show, KISS Hello Kitty. We are incredibly excited about this opportunity and want to make all our millions of fans worldwide proud of a show they can watch with the whole family,’’ he says. Bandmate Paul Stanley added: ‘‘Knowing and viewing The Hub, as I do daily with my three children, it is the perfect home for us to bring the KISS Hello Kitty juggernaut to yet another generation. I’m excited to develop this project with The Hub as it ensures it will have family appeal while keeping its brash and nurturing individuation.’’ The television show, which Simmons is slated to executive produce, will reportedly feature four of the characters living their rock ’n’ roll dreams.
