Hunter’s lat­est twist

NEW York Film Academy di­rec­tor Simon Hunter and AFI award-win­ner Nino Martinetti, who joins the Academy as a teacher, will star at the next Gold Coast In­die Film and TV Net­work event. Hunter, born in Syd­ney and raised in the US, has penned pro­duced and di­rected more than 40 doc­u­men­taries for SBS TV. His first dra­matic screen­play, Twisted Tales: Bonus Mileage – pro­duced by Bryan Brown for Chan­nel 9 and star­ring Ge­of­frey Rush – was repack­aged in the US as a fea­ture-length tele­movie. Martinetti’s CV in­cludes ac­claimed TV minis­eries Women Of The Sun and Wills And Burke.

The Gold Coast In­die Film and TV Net­work plays The Base­ment, at The Arts Cen­tre Gold Coast, on Wed­nes­day.
