ACTRESS Diane Kruger (pictured) jumped at the chance to star in the film adaptation of author Stephenie Meyer’s The Host after becoming hooked on the writer’s Twilight series. The German beauty, 36, admits she is a big fan of both the vampire books and the movie franchise, so she immediately accepted when she was offered a role in the sci-fi drama. ‘‘I love Stephenie’s books – so many emotions!’’ She tells Us Weekly magazine. ‘‘She appeals to my inner teenage girl . . . Obviously, I’ve seen Twilight. I’m Team Edward, for sure! It’s fun to be part of the cool kids’ club!’’ Kruger has been on a promotional tour across the US for the film and has been flattered by all the attention she’s received from adoring male fans. ‘‘We did a couple of poster signings in malls around America and thousands of people showed up . . . it’s neat because I don’t make teenage films, so I get asked out on dates, I get presents . . . I’mready for teenage boys!’’

The Host is in cinemas.
