Brynne’s out to make a splash

BRYNNE Edelsten’s TV career appears far from over, with the return of her reality show My Bedazzled Life on the cards. The socialite refused to say the show had been dumped and instead left open the door for an announcement about a second season.

‘‘I’m not really allowed to talk about whether my show is renewed or not, but think what you might,’’ Edelsten says. ‘‘It’s beyond not ruled out.’’ Edelsten’s fly-on-the-wall series Brynne: My Bedazzled Life , which aired on Channel 7 on Thursday nights last year, made the Top 10 most-watched shows the first two episodes.

While the audience numbers slowly melted away, it has not been to Edelsten’s detriment.

Seven has kept her on their books as one of 14 identities on the reality diving series Celebrity Splash , which will soon screen live-to-air.

Each week the identities will face their fears and dive from different heights and be judged by experts on their performance.

Those who will belly whack their way through the series are comedian Josh Thomas, Olympic swimming champion Leisel Jones, former Australian cricketer Andrew Symonds and TV veteran Denise Drysdale.

Edelsten said she had positive feedback from her Celebrity Splash coach during rehearsals for the series but the experience has left her battered and bruised.

‘‘Apparently I am quite graceful in the water, they say I’m a natural,’’ says Edelsten. ‘‘It’s a lot of fun, but it is so difficult. ‘‘The water hurts every time you hit it. It’s not soft.’’ Even if My Bedazzled Life is not renewed, Seven seems to have something else in store for Edelsten. She has vowed to return this year. ‘‘This will not be the last of me at all,’’ she giggles. ‘‘You will see me so much throughout the year, you will be sick of me.’’
