BRITISH actor Alfie Allen (pictured with Jaime Winstone) was banned from a recent Game of Thrones media event over fears he would spill secrets from the hit TV show. Lily Allen’s younger brother, who plays Theon Greyjoy in the TV adaptation of George RR Martin’s bestselling book series, was left out of the Los Angeles cast appearance because he has a bad habit of talking about upcoming plotlines. ‘‘I’m really bad at keeping secrets,’’ he said. ‘‘There was a press thing after the premiere in LA, and I wasn’t allowed to go on that. It’s quite annoying having to keep tight-lipped. Then again, playing the game is quite fun.’’ Allen landed in trouble with Game of Thrones bosses after confirming his character survives a cliffhanger at the end of season two.

Games of Thrones: Mondays, 8.30pm, Showcase.
