Steve takes on Herculean role
AUSSIE actor, Home And Away’s Steve Peacocke (pictured), has been cast in the new Dwayne Johnson action flick Hercules: The Thracian Wars. The Aussie actor has nabbed the supporting role of Stephanos in the movie, directed by Brett Ratner ( Rush Hour, X-Men: The Last Stand). He will complete filming in Budapest, Hungary, with co-stars including Johnson (aka The Rock), John Hurt and Ian McShane, before returning to Australia in September to continue his role as Brax in Home And Away. Peacocke says he’s grateful Seven is giving him time off, allowing him to be a part of the movie. ‘‘This is an incredible opportunity for me to experience film on a massive scale, work with a world-class director, actors and two of the biggest studios in the world,’’ he says. Home and Away producer Lucy Addario is ‘‘thrilled’’ they can support Peacocke. ‘‘Steve is a truly great actor so it is no surprise that Hollywood has come calling,’’ she says.
Home and Away: Weeknights, 7pm, Seven, Prime7. Hercules: The Thracian Wars is set for a July 2014 release through Paramount/MGM studios.
